Sobriety Challenge

It is okay to be sober. There is nothing ABNORMAL about SOBRIETY. That may sound funny to say, but many of those in recovery or battling addiction feel like drinking is normal and not drinking is abnormal. 

Walk a Straight Line with us on October 22

Show your support for those in recovery and help end the stigma by joining INSynergy to Walk a Straight Line. Join us to walk the 3.8 mile Lakeview Trail at Creve Coeur Park on October 22. We will meet at 2:00pm at the Taco Bell Shelter.

The first 20 people to RSVP using the link above get a free embroidered hat.

The perception for those with a medical issue like alcohol dependence is that our society sends the message that NOT DRINKING is NOT okay. 

There is sense that there is something wrong with someone wanting to be sober or simply choosing not to drink alcohol. So much socializing is tied to alcohol consumption that there is a subtle stigma to sobriety. The word “drinking” has taken on the meaning of consuming alcohol. 

The fact is that sobriety is both healthy and normal.

To show support for those in recovery and to raise awareness of the benefits of sobriety, we are sponsoring a sobriety challenge during the month of October. We want you to enjoy October sober (#SoberOctober) to convey the message that it is #OKtoBeSober.

We are asking you to join us in abstaining from alcohol (and drugs) during the entire month of October and to share your support on social media by using the hashtags #OKtoBeSober and #SoberOctober. It is a simple gesture that will go a long way to showing others it is okay to be sober.
